Dr.Srinivas Ramaka , Consultant Cardiologist, Srinivasa Heart Centre organized the 2001 World Heart Day on 30th September ,2001 at the Town Hall, Public garden, Hanamkonda. An exhibition,”A Heart for Life”- the 2001 WHD Theme focusing on the importance of healthy lifestyles in maintaining a healthy heart was organized .The exhibition was inaugurated by Sri.K.Prabhakar Reddy,the District Collector and Magistrate, Warangal. Sri . G. Nagaraju,officer in Kakatiya Grameena Bank, Sri.Suresh officer, Dept. of Industries—Govt. of Andhra Pradesh, Sri.Murali ,Employee in Kakatiya University, Medical students of Kakatiya Medical College, Warangal , staff of Srinivasa Heart Centre and other friends worked in organizing this exhibition. Posters depicting various aspects of heart ,structure and functioning of Heart,symptoms related to heart disease, risk factors for heart disease, investigations done to detect heart disease, types of heart disease, treatment and prevention of heart disease ,in the local language Telugu, were exhibited on this occasion. Members of the Warangal branch of Indian Medical Association and people from all walks of life attended the exhibition which focused on creating awareness of various aspects related to heart.
