Event Name:   WNTD2011

Dr.Srinivas Ramaka,Chairman,Srinivasa Heart Foundation and Consultant Cardiologist,Srinivasa Heart Centre organized the WNTD 2011 meet at Ravindra Bharathi,Hyderabad,Andhra Pradesh,India on 31st May,2011.The theme of WNTD 2011 is “The WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco Control”. The meet also focussed on “Effective implementation of tobacco prevention in India-Translating WHO’s MPOWER Policy to Practice.” Dr.Srinivas Ramaka welcomed the gathering. The meet started with lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries and release of the WNTD poster by Dr.BKS.Shastry,President ,Cardiological Society of India,A.P Chapter.Dignitaries from various walks of life delivered the WNTD 2011 message. Sri.Basavaraju Saraiah,Hon’ble Minister for BC Welfare,Govt. of A.P. gave his message The audience included NCC cadets belonging to various colleges of Hyderabad. Dr.Srinivas Ramaka gave training to NCC cadets and other attendees on CPR for lay public. Sri.Gundu Hanumanth Rao and group performed a skit highlighting anti-tobacco message. After the meet,all the attendees gathered in the premises of Ravindra Bharathi and burnt tobacco products giving an anti-tobacco message.
